Occupational Therapy (OT)

Occupational therapy support in the home to improve safety and daily routines

Images are for illustration only.

Occupational therapy helps you practice safer, easier daily routines at home—like bathing, dressing, toileting, moving around your space, and getting on/off a bed or chair. OT visits are provided only when ordered by your physician and focus on practical steps to support function, safety, and confidence at home.

Service area: Las Vegas, Henderson, North Las Vegas, and Summerlin.
Payment: Medicare and private pay (coverage and eligibility vary).

Physician-ordered plan of care: OT is provided only when ordered by your physician and as part of your home health plan of care. Coverage requirements may apply. We’ll explain next steps based on your situation. If this is a medical emergency, call 911.
Privacy: Please don’t include sensitive medical details in online forms.

Who occupational therapy can help

OT may be helpful for adults who want support with daily routines and home safety, such as:

  • After a hospital stay or surgery when daily tasks feel harder than usual
  • Difficulty with bathing, dressing, toileting, or moving safely around the home
  • Low energy/endurance that makes daily routines exhausting
  • Higher fall risk or trouble getting on/off the bed, chair, toilet, or shower
  • Caregivers who want practical ways to assist more safely

Services depend on physician orders and your individualized plan of care. We do not promise specific outcomes.

What occupational therapy may include

Home safety & routine evaluation

  • Review how you move through your home and complete daily tasks
  • Identify safety risks (tripping hazards, unsafe setups, poor lighting)
  • Practical recommendations to improve safety and flow
  • Fall-risk awareness and safer habit building

ADL training (daily activities)

  • Bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting routines
  • Techniques for safer get-up/get-down and bathroom routines (within the plan of care)
  • Step-by-step strategies that match your home setup
  • Caregiver guidance when helpful

Energy conservation & pacing

  • Ways to reduce fatigue during daily routines
  • Task setup tips to conserve energy
  • Breathing/pacing strategies (as appropriate)
  • Planning routines around your best times of day

Adaptive strategies & equipment education

  • Education on adaptive tools (for example: reachers, shower chairs)
  • How to use equipment safely and correctly
  • Recommendations coordinated with your care team (as appropriate)
  • Reinforcement of safe routines at home

Note: We can recommend equipment and teach safe use. Coverage, supply, and purchasing vary—we do not sell equipment.

What’s provided depends on physician orders and your plan of care.
